CARIBBEAN AWARDS PROGRAMS


MEDIA AWARDS 

It with great pleasure that we announce the Caribbean Media Awards. The Awards will honor the best feature print and broadcast placements and photography from US- and Caribbean-based media outlets that have truly captured the essence of the Caribbean in their storytelling.  The Awards which celebrate their wonderful work and dedication to the promotion of the Caribbean will be presented in the following media categories:

1)  Best Feature Article in a Consumer Newspaper – US
2)  Best Feature Article in a Consumer Magazine – US
3)  Best Feature Article in a Trade Publication – US
4)  Best Photograph in Conjunction with a Feature Article – US
5)  Best Feature Broadcast - US
6)  Best Overall Feature – Caribbean-based media
7)  Best of Show

All entries must be submitted by Monday May 3, 2010.  Submissions will be accepted from CTO Governments representatives, public relations partners and members of the media.

Media Awards Luncheon

1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Attended by Ministers, Commissioners and Directors of Tourism as well as award-winning media and leaders of the Caribbean tourism industry, this luncheon recognizes US- and Caribbean-based consumer and trade media that have captured the essence of the Caribbean in their storytelling.  A limited number of seats are available until Friday, June 4th.

THE CTO LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AND CARIBBEAN DIASPORA AWARDS

The Caribbean Tourism Organization is calling for nominations for the Lifetime Achievement and Caribbean Diaspora awards.  

The Awards will be presented at the 37th annual Governments of the Caribbean State Ball and Awards Presentations to be held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on Friday, June 11, 2010, under the auspices of the CTO Foundation.

The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, April 23, 2010. Nominations may be submitted electronically to CTOny@caribtourism.com, or by mail to CTO-USA, Inc., Awards Nominations, 80 Broad Street, Suite 3200, New York, NY 10004.

Persons making submissions should provide a photo and bio (not a CV) of the nominee as well as an essay (no longer than 500 words) supporting the nomination based on the criteria. It would be helpful to know that the nominee, if selected, will be available, to personally accept the Award in New York on Friday evening, June 11, 2010.  The nominee will be responsible for meeting all costs associated with accepting the Award.

The selection will be made by a selected jury comprising public and private sector members on a points basis and the Award will go to the nominee who is awarded the most points.

The 2010 Awards are in two categories:

     •  The CTO Lifetime Achievement Award
     •  The CTO Caribbean Diaspora Award
