Meeting Planners are challenged by budgets, distance, taxes and other conditions when choosing destinations for their gatherings. While there is a decline in the number and size of corporate meetings, associations continue to meet. Planners are searching for unique opportunities and extraordinary experiences that will leave memories their clients cherish over a lifetime. In this economic environment, they are also looking for more value for the dollars they invest – a feeling that the savings helps to justify the capital outlay.
The Caribbean, because of its proximity, the quality and diversity of its product, its affordability and the absence of the burden of additional taxes, is perfectly positioned to capitalize on this market, deliver on the expectations of these planners and increase its market share, particularly now that the market is showing signs of recovery.
The Caribbean Tourism Organization, in association with Black Meetings and Tourism Meetings is pleased to announce the second annual Caribbean Meeting and Incentive Travel Showcase. Working with all meeting planning groups and associations, particularly in the northeast USA - the Region’s No. 1 market - we will secure the best qualified planners, pre-qualify them as a condition of participating.
In order to satisfy their needs, planners are asking that suppliers provide them with relevant information on their product to give them an edge in their decision making. You will want to be the first point of contact for reliable information to helps guide the planning process and create new business opportunities for your destination.
Government participants are asked to provide us with the following information so that we may compile it on their behalf as a handout for Planners:
• New, relevant product updates
• Assistance with familiarization trips, site inspections and airline services
• Political and social stability
• Health updates
• Currency, including fluctuations
• Printed materials and promo suggestions
• Lists of established venues/experiences with supporting buyer feedback
• Accurate information on VAT, work permits and weather conditions
• Customs regulations for shipping printed materials, equipment, etc.
