
The Caribbean Tourism Organization, in collaboration with Springboard Caribbean, is pleased to offer an Institute of Hospitality endorsed Professional Leadership Skills Programme consisting of three virtual workshops.
Overview
Increasing turbulence and challenges in the business environment brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and other global disruptions mean that organizations are even more dependent on their leadership team to have the knowledge and skills to quickly respond to arising challenges whilst motivating and leading their organizations to improve business performance. The purpose of the Professional Leadership Skills Programme is to provide participants with the underpinning knowledge, tools and techniques that will enable them to have a clearer understanding of their role and responsibilities as leaders, develop a strategic mindset and implement activities that will improve team cohesion and overall performance standards.
- Target Audience
This programme has been specifically designed for supervisors and managers with responsibility for managing people but who may not have had the opportunity to undertake formal training on how to be an effective leader, how to execute strategy effectively and how to influence culture to improve business performance.
This programme is designed for current and emerging leaders across the tourism and hospitality industry, including:
- Senior managers, department heads, and team leaders from:
- Ministries of Tourism, National Tourism Organizations (NTOs), and Destination Management Organizations (DMOs), tourism-related public sector agencies (e.g., civil aviation, immigration, port authorities, cultural heritage bodies)
- Supervisors with direct people management responsibilities
- Executives and decision-makers from tourism and hospitality enterprises
- Professionals from accommodation, food and beverage, transportation, attractions, and event management sub-sectors
- Leaders from tourism associations, industry groups, and training institutions

This programme consists of three mandatory leadership workshops that have been successfully delivered across the Caribbean region. All of the workshops are endorsed and co-certificated by the Institute of Hospitality, UK. The workshops being offered are:
Unlocking your Leadership Potential to Drive Business Performance:
22nd & 23rd October 2025: 9:30 am – 12:30 pmThis workshop provides you with the knowledge, tools and techniques that will enable you to be an effective leader. You will learn about motivation, the difference between management and leadership and how to improve your own leadership style to engage your team and drive business performance. This workshop is delivered in two sessions, each of three hours each, on consecutive days to allow for review and reflection as part of the learning process.
Using Strategy Execution Methods to Effectively Deliver your Business Goals:
5th & 6th November 2025: 9:30 am – 12:30 pmDesigned to develop the strategic thinking and build the organizational alignment of your management team. Provides leaders with the knowledge and tools to develop the organizations’ strategic goals and to drive those goals into departmental and individual priorities and objectives. It also explores the most effective way of communicating those priorities, executing and measuring successful delivery. This workshop is delivered in two sessions, each of three hours each, on consecutive days and includes a case study assignment.
Developing a Caring Customer Service Culture to Create Employee Empowerment and Organizational Growth:
19th November 2025: 10:00 am – 1:00 pmThis workshop is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and understanding of the importance of organizational culture and its impact on individual and organizational performance. You will learn about the psychology of customers and teams, the role of vision, values and behaviour in shaping culture, drivers of change and how to effectively manage the change process. This workshop is a single three-hour session.
- Certification
Each of the leadership skills workshops will be individually certificated by Springboard Caribbean and endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality, UK. In addition, each workshop attracts two (2) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points through the Institute of Hospitality. (Continuing Professional Development is the learning activities professionals engage in to develop and enhance their abilities and CPD points are units that quantify the time and quality of learning and development activities. Due to the knowledge and skills gained, CPD is recognized by current and prospective employers as a valuable and credible achievement.)

Additional Benefits of participating in the Leadership Skills Development Programme
On completion of the three mandatory workshops, participants will be provided with the opportunity for further access to an e-learning platform at no additional charge. The participants will have free access to the 12 Managerial & Supervisory Skills Development Standards offered by Springboard Caribbean and then ongoing access to the remaining 98 certificated and UK approved e-learning courses for a 12-month period.
- Delivery
The three workshops will be delivered through real time Zoom sessions, led by highly experienced instructors who have extensive experience in the evaluation of the business performance of both international and regional organizations and helping those organizations to develop the skills of their leadership teams, bring clarity to their strategic intent, manage culture change and build the framework for effective strategy execution.
- Registration Process
The cost of the programme is US$300.00 which covers participation in the three mandatory workshops, all workshop materials and free access to Springboard Caribbean e-learning platform.
