This free, 7-week course developed by Sustainable Travel International and offered by Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and the Hamburg Open Online University (HOOU)
● Enhance participant understanding of sustainable tourism development and management
● Inspire learners to think carefully and critically about current SIDS’ tourism issues and related tourism policies
● Enable participants to assess the opportunities that sustainable tourism strategies offer for SIDS in particular
● Understand how policy-making can improve tourism in small island states
The course seeks to form a truly global SIDS learning community, facilitating peer-to-peer interaction and cross-destination knowledge sharing; while drawing from concrete experiences
in the Caribbean, Pacific, West African, and Indian Ocean regions. A number of qualified tutors will guide learners along the way, to clarify any issues and provide academic supervision.
